Clean Development Mechanism Project Assistance

There is a significant hidden potential for Energy efficiency CDM project exists in Indian industry which can earn CDM Carbon credit.

What is CDM?

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), defined in Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, is a flexible financing instrument that enables developing countries to benefit from reductions of emissions of harmful greenhouse gases (GHGs) and promote sustainable development. A typical CDM project produces a marketable commodity, namely CERTIFIED emissions reduction (CER) credits. The sale of CER credits to developed countries and companies with ER targets can help generate additional revenue for a CDM project in the developing country

We provide the following services under CDM assessment study for industries and commercial buildings

  • Project Identification as a CDM project
  • Preparing a PIN/PCN
  • Project Design Development(PDD)
  • Assisting with a baseline study to determine potential for ER credits
  • Helping design a monitoring and verification plan
  • Developing the project design document

     Small Scale CDM projects

  1. Renewable energy project activities with a max output capacity eq. up to 15 MW
  2. Energy efficiency improvement project activities that reduce energy consumption on the supply and/or demand side by up to the equivalent of 15 GWh per year
  3. Other project activities that both reduce the anthropogenic emissions by sources and that directly emit less than 15 kilotonnes of CO2 equivalent annually

What are the type of CDM projects
Energy efficiency measures
> Boiler and steam efficiency
> Pumps and pumping systems
> Efficient cooling systems
> Back pressure turbines etc…

Cogeneration in industries having both steam and power requirements

Fuel switching
> From fossil fuel to green fuel like biomass

Waste management
> Capturing of landfill methane emissions to generate power
> Utilisation of waste and waste water emissions for generation of energy

Power sector
> Induction of new technologies which are efficient (thermal)
> Reduction in technical T&D losses

Renewable energy
> Wind power
> Solar
> Biomass power
> Hydro power
